Hospice of Dickinson County Recognized Nationally for Quality

Hospice of Dickinson County has been recognized nationally and named a 2016 Hospice Honors recipient for providing the highest level of quality hospice services according to Deyta Analytics, a national agency that collects data and provides advanced analytics on hospice agencies.  The award is based upon data gathered from patients’ informal primary caregivers.   

Hospice of Dickinson County scored above the national average on 20 out of 24 experience indicator measures which earned this national recognition.  Some of the indicators measured were Getting Help for the Patient’s Symptoms, Hospice Team Communication, Getting Timely Care, Treating Family Member with Respect, Providing Emotional Support, Support for Religious and Spiritual Beliefs, Information Continuity, Understanding the Side Effects of Pain Medication, and Getting Hospice Care Training. 

 This Hospice award is based on national standards developed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to allow valid comparisons among all Medicare certified hospice agencies.  Medicare certified means the hospice agency is approved by Medicare and meets certain federal health and safety requirements. 

Hospice of Dickinson County is a division of Home Health and Hospice of Dickinson County, a local, non-profit agency that provides services to residents of Dickinson County with offices in Abilene and Herington.  The agency received national recognition for its quality home health services in October 2015.  For more information contact the Abilene office at 263-6630.
